They were the Baluch equivalent of "gypsies" and specialized in iron working... and made carpets in the Sistan area in a particular pattern...
Were the carpets any better than their guns?
When I lived in South Africa 25 years ago, I was able to find some of their carpets. I can assure that many of them are both well made and beautiful. Of course, tribal made carpets are not up to the same degree of expertise as the carpets made in the towns and villages inside a building in that part of the world, but to me the tribal carpets are the real "thing".
