Just FYI, no you do not have the right to the insurance money and the gun. If you are involved in an auto accident that is bad enough to total your car, it belongs to the insurance company. The towing company will even protect the insurance company from you from getting into it. Alot of times it will even be hard for you to get personal belongings out of it.
Oh you also do not have a choice on repair or replace. If they are willing to give you the fair market price the auto is gone and all you will have is a check.
