When it comes to those folks "live and let live" only works if you live DEEP in the mountains of NH, and only if one does not mind his/her ... being blown away.

My tears today as well as my prayers were not from joy. They were from a profound knowledge of loss that still affects me. You see, my son (only living child) was scheduled to be there that morning. He was delayed and missed the attack by just a few minutes.
Knowing where he was scheduled to be, I tried, in vain, to contact him. I made contact at eleven AM the next day.
My anguish was almost more than I could stand but was nothing to compare to those that had losses.
Yep, I had tears today as way too many did.
Now, I am taking a break. I wish all good health and all the blessings possible. I leave you with this:
Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like you do when nobody's watching. Life is short. Make it mean something positive.

Lest we forget: it was ignorance and hate that allowed the criminals that brought this pain to our home and the world.
Let us, also, know that education and love will go very far in canceling out that hate and ignorance.
May the master of mankind, whatever name you call that master, grant us all the peace that only love can bring.

John 9/11 is not about joy. I believe joy appeared in the prevaricating secton of the second post. You're confused there jOe, maybe thorny gave you his recipe and you're oversampled.

Hansli...you shouldn't drag poor Lowell in this he and John Mann just got all full of lOve and jOy a few weeks back.
My comments were directed at terrorists....education of these hethens is one of the biggest reasons 9/11 happened.

John, I believe that you touched the heart of the matter. 9/11 affected us all, each in similar but different ways. You had a personal loss & I can only imagine what that must have been like for you & others who lost loved ones. John Browning wrote: "No man is an island, entire of itself. Everyman is a piece of the continent a part of the plain. Therefore, never send to know for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee". Unimaginable ignorance, hatred, cowardice and prejudice perpetrated these horrendous acts upon innocents. Theirs was not an act ordained by a loving God but rather directed by His arch enemy. In no way must we forget what happened on 9/11. We must, as a nation under that God, always be prepared when that evil raises it's head again, for it will.

Gary Schroen, who took the first CIA team into Afghanistan following 9/11 (several weeks ahead of the first military to arrive), had marching orders to "bring Osama's head back in a box filled with dry ice". Unfortunately, we have been unable to accomplish that task. Even more unfortunately, we passed up opportunities to go after OBL in 98-99, after he'd attacked our embassies in Africa. There might not have been a 9/11 if we'd used "the big stick" then.
