I guess it is, for 26" barrels. But, in general I don't consider 7 lbs. a very heavy gun.

Couple weeks ago Gil and I hunted woodcock. I was using my 30" barreled Verona 28 gauge, and we killed two limits that day. He asked me, during the day, how much the Verona weighed. I replied "6 lbs. something, I think". I couldn't remember, and it didn't seem heavy to me at all. That evening, at home, I looked and it weighs 7 lbs. 3.6 oz., unloaded. Gun weight is relative, I guess.

God help me but I need to get out of NoVa. First Choice - Gainesville Fl; Second Choice - Baldwin Country east of Mobile, AL; third choice - someplace in the tidewater area of jawja around Savanna.

Argo, I don't think there are many people who don't want to relocate from Northern Virginia. It kinda fits JFK's description of DC: "A city with northern charm and southern efficiency." 3 years there was more than enough for me! But I was able to enjoy some pretty decent fishing for smallmouth on the Rappahannock above Fredericksburg.

Seven pounds and .75 ounce is very heavy? Not in my book.

It's closer to 8lb than it is to 7.

How is 7 lbs. and less than one ounce closer to 8 lbs. than 7? It's three- quarters of an ounce, not three-quarters of a pound.

Roughly 7.05 lbs. A nice medium.

Ah... I stand corrected. I read it as 3/4 lb.
