keet: first, i never called for the involuntary disarming of law abiding citizens, which would never work...what i am calling for is a discussion of the pros and cons of mass voluntary disarmament by law abiding citizens...
second, never called for the banning of entire classes of firearms...what i do suggest is discussion of the pros and cons of the restriction of certain classes of firearms, at the state and local level...
for, unlike you apparently, i believe any federal legislation that infringes on the right of the people to keep and bear arms, is a violation of the second amendment...
the articles of the constitution define the powers and responsibilities granted to the federal gubmint, by us, the people...the first ten amendments, aka, the bill of rights, specifically limit the power and responsibility of the federal gubmint and reserves to the states and to us, the people, those powers and responsibilities...
