Here's one possible clue to distinguish the Scott spindle from the Helice locking system invented by V-C: The screw in the Scott spindle runs down from the top of the action, with its head in plain sight in the middle of the top lever. The screw in the Helice action runs up from the bottom, so no screw head visible in the top lever. Working on memory here, but I can't recall ever having seen a gun marked "Helice" (or some variant) that had a visible screw in the top lever.
Woops! I see that I need to retract the last statement. Argo's post back on p. 1 does show a gun marked "Helice Gripp" with a very visible screw in the top lever. But I can't tell from that photo whether the gun also has the top lever "stop" that is characteristic of Helice guns.
