I operate a waterfowl outfitting/guiding business in Alberta, CA. I'm wondering if I was to set up a special discounted hunt where everyone was required to use a vintage SxS would there be any interest.
I take groups of 6 into the field at a time and this would be for the 2020 season, Sept and Oct.
There is a lot more info to post but I'll wait to see what the response is then post a formal invite on the 'For Sale' forum.
For more information on my business go to apwp.ca or pm me.

Sounds like a cool idea! But I'm a DIY sort of person, so I may not be a likely client.

Good thought. but I can see some complications: (1 Whom will determine what is a "Vintage" side-by-side? (2) Is steel or non-toxic shot required? (4) How many rounds of ammo will each shooter be allowed to bring into Canada? (5) How many shotguns of any type will each shooter be allowed to bring into Canada?- If I were attending, I would most likely bring my L.C. Smith 12 LONGRANGE Ideal Grade, and for back-up/rainy days- a Model 21 12gaq. A M21 is almost "fool-proof"- in my years of experience anyway-- RWTF

(1) a Model 12 wouldn't likely qualify as a vintage sxs. (3) Steel or non-tox is required in Canada. (4) As I recall you can import 200 rounds duty free, but some airlines limit shells to eleven pounds. (5) Many as you want but you'll have to pay for temporary firearms permits. That's all I can help with...Geo

In a vehicle, two boxes per gun, but they never ask. Don't know the law on loose powder and shot. $25 Canadian for three guns for one year. Hopeless to keep trying it here, but would be nice if they would allow pre-1898 shotguns of any bore size. That would really make for a unique hunt in North America. Write Trudeau and tell him some Canadians wish to be like England in this regard.

We could not find bismuth in Canada for sale and had to take it with us. I took a FOX and a GREENER along with a case of Kent's bismuth in 4. With all of the appropriate paperwork it was a breeze getting the shotguns to Canada. If you haven't been it is a super place to hunt. Take some lead bird shot for afternoon grouse and partridge

1. I am organizing the hunt I set the rules. I don't mind suggestions but keep it on track. 2. It is a SxS vintage shoot. If you would like to bring something else then you would need to go somewhere else. 3. Shells are a problem. Non toxic is required. First there would only be one type of shell. We would need to settle on it soon so I could get the proper permits and import the required amount for the shoot. I budget 2.5 boxes per hunter per hunt, but with SxS instead of semi's perhaps 2 boxes per hunt. (Don't believe you will shoot less even if you are a well disciplined shooter.) You could bring our own but it wouldn't be enough. Import is limited to 200 per hunter. Calculate based on my hunts which are 3-day/5 hunts and you have the opportunity to limit on one species per hunt excepting snows. (In Alberta we can hunt all species both morning and evening so you get 2 hunts per day and 1 on your last day) Daily bag limit is 8 dark geese, 8 ducks and 50 snows. 4. There are no gunsmiths for vintage guns in close proximity. I suggest a backup gun but is needs to be a SxS. 5. Weather is unpredictable. It can be 75F today and tomorrow 25F and snowing. 6. A group is minimum 4 max 6. I can take two groups at one time. 7. Where I can hunt there is minimal upland game. Not enough to set up a guided hunt and you will be too tired.
Hal, I have never heard of two boxes per gun per vehicle.
