I guess the standard for "working man" can be whatever you want it to be. My first 870 in the 70's was priced about the same as an Ithaca/SKB double. That is the gun I really wanted but my father believed the 870 would be more versatile. While in my late 20's and making less than $10 per hour I bought my first Grulla. As someone that will be a "working man" for as long as I live I have to consider anything in the safe a working man's gun.
