FallCreekFan, welcome to the forum. But I'm curious about the statement where you seem to be saying that the Western Arms Long Range Double shared the same barrels as the Ithaca NID. Take a look at the rib extension on your barrels, and those from an NID, and you will see they are not the same. The NID has a rotary bolted action, and a rectangular hole in the barrel rib extension.

One working mans double that hasn't been mentioned is the N.R. Davis. My uncle had one, but I never saw him use it. It hung on the wall above his reloading bench. Of course, I asked my Dad and uncle about it. I was told that it was heavier than their Model 870 pumps, and only held two shells. Also, it had a problem with doubling, and three different gunsmiths were not able to fix it. It took a number of years for me to overcome their negativity toward double barrel shotguns. I have several of these working man's doubles, but I never had a desire to buy an N.R. Davis because of that early negative review.

I hope Geo will take Ted's advice about repairing the 20 ga. Iver Johnson... unless the rib popped loose from being shoved into the garden as a tomato stake.
