Thats the importers markings, Woodcock Hill Benton PA. The WW on the forend lug is the barrel makers mark or the shop who sleeved the barrels.

You will find all sorts of odd marks on guns that you will never really know what they mean . They will no doubt refer to specific men or shops who built parts of the gun or did specific work on it . In this example I would assume it was the barrel maker , be it in house or as an out worker .

There were a few Midland barrel makers with W W initials,

The gun was made in 1888

Not sure what you need, James Lang 64 A. New Bond st. London made June 29th 1888. Reminds me of an EC Hodges I once saw.

There was a W. Wheeler barrel maker in Birmingham in the 1860s a William Wiggin b'maker a bit earlier, W. Woodward b'maker , William Woolley, 1870, William Wortan.
Maybe the Lang ledgers would help if they survived and could be located ?

I contacted AGL and unfortunately this is a transition gun from 33 New Bond street to 18 Brook street and the only info they had on it was the year and where it was sourced from in the white.
