I do miss Missouri for that reason Thorny. Yesterday I went down to the Honolulu PD HQ to get my "long gun permit". I was photographed, fingerprinted twice, filled out six different forms, and paid $24 in cash. I can pick up my permit in a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of three weeks or I have to do it all over again. This allows me to bring my Dickson and my other shotguns and my .22 and double rifle over here. when they arrive I have 48 hours to appear at the HPD HQ with the guns so they can inspect them and record and varify the serial numbers. Then I can take them home. This is in addition to my C&R. This applies to all long firearms regardless of date of manufacture.

Handguns are a completely different category and require a seperate licensing after a mandatory handgun course as I understand it now. There is no distinction for date of manufacture or your C&R/FFL status. A hunting license here requires that I attend another course on hunter safety no matter how long you've been hunting or how many licenses you've had or how many other hunter safety courses you've completed. Concealed carry??............foggedabouddit brudda!!!

SO, IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE THIS COULD HAPPEN IN THE UNITED STATES...........ITS ALREADY HERE........DON'T LET IT SPREAD!!!!

I guess that's just one of the prices of living in paridise!! Somehow, I don't think the NRA is going to be able to help us much out here.......sadly.
