Rothenburg is a beautiful medieval town and was relatively untouched by the war compared to most German towns. Was only bombed once. A great place to wander around. Even if you dont find a gun shop youll enjoy it. I was amazed how many deer stands on the edge of fields I saw in that area. They love to hunt! Rothenburg was my favorite city in W. Germany when I lived there in the 80s. Its absolutely spectacular during Christmas season. Like stepping back in time, its Germany I know, but it really had a Dickens feel to it. Love that place.
