Would there ever be a time a 2 3/4 chamber would be marked 1 1/8oz? Or would that be a good indication the chambers were opened? Last edited by RARiddell; 10/12/19 08:13 AM.

Blue Grouse Sidelock Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 119 Calgary, Alberta	Most 2 1/2" chambered guns are proofed for 1 1/8 oz. but there are 2 1/2" guns with 1 1/4 oz. proofs. I am not aware of any 2 3/4" guns with 1 1/8 oz. proofs though.

Thus a higher proof could have been requested by the submitter, but not a lower one. Thus in 12 gauge a 2�: proof was standard at 1 1/8 oz, A 2 3/4" one at 1� oz & 3" at 1� oz.
