Ok this is obviously not your average Fox gun but the price seems a bit optimistic to me.

Asking and getting are two different things as we all know. You just don�t see any sell to have a baseline value. It might make that at auction or it might not by tens of thousands. It would take multiple bidders getting into a must own bidding frenzy. But if you pay 90K for it will it ever get out of a safe and get used? I may shoot and hunt with my pigeon grade 42�s but I doubt I�d shoot that safe queen.

I do know you could buy a new 28 ga. FE, 28� for $33,000 and with the extra $57,000 buy enough shells to wear it out. Or make one hell of a dove trip to South America with the 28 FE.

I've never understood the jagged gold lightning bolt thingie on the breach end of the barrels... just looks out of place.

Seller is a procurement specialist for Morphy's.
He's probably forgotten more about fine guns than most folks will ever know.
I would venture a guess that he's probably pretty close to the mark on value.

Not out of line at all. At the Fall 2017 Julia's Auction, Dana's other FE-Grade, 12-gauges, both the later Gough style, brought $86,250 and $92,000. Both with the slightly more common Fox half pistol grip. Dana's 20-gauge, FE-Grade, brought $166,750.

Interesting, I did not think the American double gun market was still that strong.

It is a very rare gun in a desirable configuration.

I have handled this gun at the Vintagers. It's a 10+ in my opinion.
