George, do you know who made that "Thuringish" Sommerda. All I can make out is EHRHARDT LAUF with sq. in circle tm. Is it really made by that "Big Bertha", MG and pistol maker?
Mr. Chambers is interested in it.

George here's one of the 277 items you have listed...I take back what I said about your descriptions. I think gave a pretty good one on this gun.

Price: $1,475.00

.410 MIDLAND GUN CO HAMMER SXS SHOTGUN Serial no 113139. .410. 28 inch barrels. Game rib marked: Midland Gun Co., Birmingham, England. Blued action engraved with foliate scroll details. Rebounding back action locks. Checkered half pistolgrip stock of straight grain walnut. Round knob. Vacant silver oval. Checkered pull off splinter foe-end. CONDITION: Good. Barrels show 80-90% bluing turning brown with deep pitting under fore-end. Bores show areas of deep pitting mostly near breech. Action shows a gray brown patina with some blued finish on locks. Deformed triggerguard. Refinished stock shows nicks and scratches.

George on your price....did you mean $475 instead of $1475 ?

Sorry boys, I didn't intend to start a war, I just thought that since the readership of this forum is interested in doubles, they might be interested in these listings......no?

PJ: I have no idea. I'm not familiar with A. Sommerda at all, but I intend to find out & when I do I'll let you know.

George,
There is no A Sommerda...Sommerda is a city where Rhienmetall Machinewaren (sp?) is located...the gun that you have listed as A Sommerda was actually made be Rheinmetall (large gun & munitions manufacturing company)...if you pull the fore end off, you may find the RM touchmark located somewhere on the barrels, (but usually not the barrels flats).

Dealer? What dealer ........ I'm not selling these guns ..... just helping my grand daughter. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck ..... it's a Duck.

If you don't like it ..... don't buy it.

George your descrption reads...."Bores show areas of deep pitting mostly near breech".

Would you consider this gun a shooter ?

MuchO' Pesos for wall-hanger Senior...unless of course this gun belonged to POncho Villa.
