I regularly have all the engraving re-cut on restorations. It is hard to pick up certain areas and do a good job. Usually some fine pitting remains if that approach is taken. Trying to save money by only having small sections refreshed is a waste of both time and money most times with exception of small areas of damage not related to pitting or wear.
