George:

I agree totally with the $5-700. From a collector's perspective, I don't think it would fetch the top end of the range for the German Scheutzen(?) rifle with a Bohler barrel due to the fact that it has some surface rust and looks to have light external pitting and I'm collecting 8.15X46(1/2 sometimes)R. Condition of the bore would be nice to know. The proof date is close to the time that the 8.15X46R was standarized; therefore, RWS ammo might just fit the bill. I have seen 30-30 Win. brass modified but I haven't had the time to check the dimensions. Please let me know the outcome.

Kind Regards,

Raimey

A typical German Schuetzen built on the 71 Mauser in the most common caliber for these type rifles. A rater plain gun unlike most German Schuetzen rifles of this period. The work looks a lot like other rifles I have seen by Emil V. Nordheim, Mehlis. The only big downside to this rifle is the missing tang sight which was a finely made sight with adjustments for both windage and elevation.
