Agree with the "dick-head" comparison. About 12 years ago I found myself with 3 pre-64 M70's- 30-06 and scoped- One, Dad's old SG bought it 1939- goes to my Grandson, but I had my eyes on another Smith 12 bore, and decided to try out Mr. Chad-dick in Terrell TX and offer him the 1954 mfg. M70- at $1150 plus shpg - he agreed, accepted my description, and sent me his check for $1225-- Ok, deposited it, had Brad ship and pack it- 2 weeks later he calls me to say that somehow the bolt, which was removed from the action when packed, had "shifted around in transit, and somehow had scratched the pg of the buttstock. He wanted me to send him back $150 of the $1225 to cover his cost to have his "gunsmith" repair this "flaw"-- I told him Hell No- you send the gun back to me through Brad's FFL, and then I'll refund your $1150-

He started on a line of BS about how he sold a ton of Parkers to folks at the famed King Ranch in Western TX- and told me I should call Bill Jaqua in Findlay if I wanted assurance of his "character"-- Guess he didn't know that I had a long running friendship with the late Bill- I did call the store and talked to Cam-- she agreed with my decision, said she'd call old Herschel for me if I felt that was needed.

I walked away, never heard another word from that 'gent" in Terrell TX again, at least his check didn't bounce. RWTF
