For those of you who said about Bob selling the gun later and turning a profit, I doubt it. With all the time and money it takes to do this kind of ground up restoration, if does sell it and make any money, he is a magician. He is doing because he wants to. I say good for him.
Ummm, it was Bob who said he had made a nice profit on his upgrades. Nobody else made that claim. But he deleted that comment for some reason, and had another tantrum. Go figure.
But your later comments about the number of phony guns and upgrades, and fake proof stamps, etc. make a strong case in support of what buzz said about the subject. Quite often, sales are done fairly quickly at gun shows or other events, where it may not be possible to wait for a factory letter or other due diligence.
Buzz is hardly the first guy who has given his opinion about upgrades here. Some folks like 'em and some don't. Some think they should have some prominent stamp or feature that will help to guarantee that they won't be passed off as original. There was no need to castigate buzz for his opinion,... or to accuse him of harboring a grudge.., or to have a tantrum and start another thread to denigrate him. Buzz was a gentleman in all of his comments.
Going by the pictures that also got deleted, my first thought was that this was a thread about old Ed Landers torch coloring.
