I understand that a Husqvarna warehouse with an extreme number of rifles and shotguns was found and sold off 2-3 years ago. One fellow at the Reno show still has a bunch. I picked up several Mod 1939 rifles in 9.3x62 which I am customizing. These various guns are available for good prices right now.

Sarco is not Griffin and Howe. They buy guns from Sweden whether they are swedish or not since the gun ban there. They have German, Hungarian guns, American guns, etc. They explained to me they buy containers full of used guns, sometimes 5,000 at a time and then sell them off here. The guns are dirty and worn out in general. They have been laying around in warehouses before the buy and look to me like they have been in someones basement. They usually sell cheap and many can be fixed up if you have the time and inclination for a low end gun. I imagine when the container comes in there are some nice guns but I have been there a few times and not seen anything nice except for some Sauers and Merkels which were low end guns. The good ones prbably go quick. I think they sell a lot over the phone and you need to know the number they have assigned to the gun.

They are not set up for customer service but the salesmen have been nice and patient once you get their attention.

To correct a perhaps unintended statement. There is NO "gun ban" in Sweden. What there is is a limit on the number of guns one can own and the reasons for owing them. This has resulted in lots of older, no longer used guns being dumped in favor of retaining a small number of quality, highly useful guns. Many of the dumped guns were indeed, in someown's "basement" for decades and were often rather badly worn.

Thanks for the correction and the nice way you did it. I was just repeating what they were saying at Sarco and should have checked before posting.

I met those guys in gun shop here in Sweden last year, they bought as you say loads of guns.

The non-professional hunter in Sweden can have up to six rifles or shotguns for hunting, and another six guns or rifles for target shooting. If you are a serious collector you can own lots of guns, even machine guns, assault rifles and sub machine guns, but you are not allowed to shoot with them. Serious top national sub machine gun shooters are allowed to own and shoot the Carl Gustav m/45. All guns must be kept in a safe.

I have 2 shotguns, 1 drilling and 4 rifles. If I was allowed more guns I would most certainly have a couple of Husqvarna hammer guns.

From whom are they getting all these guns?
