Squirrels are rodents- "tree rats" and in MI there is no closed season on red squirrels- fox squirrels from mid-Sept to end of March. Why get all upset over a dead or dying squirrel, anymore than a raccoon or possum-? My farmer friend near Remus (MI) has "put the tune" on many red squirrels that are all over their bird feeders- used a older open sighted Rem 531 single shot BA and shorts- head shots only-- instant death--what's wrong with that? RWTF
