No I'm not a peta member but I do carry cards from the NRA, NMLRA, B&C Club, DU, RGS, and others. I've hunted since a kid and I still do. I've shot box pigeons, shot rats on the city dump at night with 22s, done volume shooting on doves in Argentina. I've been a scofflaw and shot over my limit at times. I regret many of the things I've done in the name of sport. Nowadays I'm a fair chase hunter, if I shoot it I or a donee eats it. Back to this thread and pigeons, next time you hear of a box shoot think about it. Is it fair chase or slaughter? What happens to wounded birds> no one puts out one ounce of effort to get them. How about the dead birds put into sacks and off to the dump? Years ago people asked for them for food. No one does it today. I hope at least one of you reading will see this blood game in a different light. BY the way falcons don't kill or wound pigeons while onlookers are drinking cocktails and beer under a tent, and have a Calcutta going on them. They do it to survive.
