The view off the porch, facing the best thing that ever came out of the Deep South, Interstate 35:

The weather will hold the ticks, fleas, and skeeters off for a few weeks, giving me another shot at the game farm.

Followed your instructions on prepping the birds to the letter, and was rewarded with good eating, Lloyd. My boss claimed it is the best pheasant he has ever eaten, and he takes 20-30 a season. Thanks a bunch.

Hope your blessings are many, and the cottonmouths are few for John.

Few, not none.

Best,
Ted

Snakes are already out here, saw a rat snake in the road today. Watching under my feet closely in the weeds and grass.

One of our equipment sheds faced South. Snakes would sun themselves on equipment in early Springtime. The old canvas on a bean head for the combine was a favorite place for them. Black snakes I left alone, as they were great at killing mice and rats but the odd rattler or copperhead were killed every time we saw them.

Hope you miss the worst of the snowy mess Ted. Snow this time of year almost seems unfair.

Two years ago I was headed for the Colorado Weapons Collector show in Denver in mid-May, hit snow before I was over Lookout Pass and got as far as Butte and I-90 was closed on east over Homestake Pass. No problem, I'll just take I-15 south and then go east on I-80 across southern Wyoming. Wrong again!! Headed farther south on I-15 for I-70, but watching the clouds over the mountains, ended up taking U.S. 50 across the Great Basin to Great Basin National Park, Ely and then up to Elko, the Western Folklife Center, Ruby Mountains, etc.

Late spring storms aren't that unusual, but the news media needs fodder.

I missed most of the Friday show because of that storm, 3 ft of wet cement like snow at my house. It was 1 p.m. before my road was plowed out and I did not get to my table until 3 p.m. We only picked up about 5" yesterday.

If you are at the collectors show this year I will have two tables with a bunch of doubles on it. Stop by and say hello.

Well, it's no storm here on the north shore of Lake Ontario but it is snowing. We hit 60 two days ago and now this. Crap!

This tells me either:
1) you got your three birds in Mississippi; if not:

2) this trip was someone else's idea. Gil
