Ignore the AR marking and just read the Roman numerals. They are the date code on Zolis of that era. I have a 20 gauge sxs from the early sixties that has the AR marking and the Roman numeral code.
The importers name should also help pin down the era in which it was imported. Does yours say "Dakin Arms Company" or some variation of that name? Dakin imported Zolis in the late 50s and into the mid to late 60s before the family died in a private plane crash. The business first operated out of Kansas or Nebraska (cannot remember which) and later out of San Francisco.

Actually Dakin was originally in San Francisco, after the unfortunate plane crash Simmons in Kansas purchased the company, quality decreased.
