Philip is my man also. He is the best action guy I have met in 60 years of looking. He also does very well on all phases of gunsmithing. When Phil started out he spent many winters at Ottsville,Pa He works on Hunter one triggers and has no problems with them. He says most guys don't understand them!

If the gun is brand new Id shoot it a bit before I had the triggers worked on. Ive had a few guns which the trigger got better with use. You should know what it really is after a thousand or so rounds. If they dont lighten up with use, then you could have them lightened a bit. I think gun makers are setting triggers with a higher pull, to be extra safe against accidental firing. In todays never to be damned enough, sue happy world, if 4-5 is perfect they go for 6-7 as being on the side of caution.
