Keep in mind that names such as Westernfield (Montgomery Wards), Revelation (Western Auto), J C Higgins (Sears) etc were "Owned" by the retailer, not the gun's maker. At different points in time, different makers made guns under the same name for these big retailers.
I also have interests in antique Sewing Machines. From around 1900 up into the mid-1920s, Sears sold machines under the name Minnesota. During this approximate 25 year period at least 5 companies supplied them with machines bearing the Minnesota name, with the most common one being the Davis Sewing Machine Co of Dayton OH. Davis also made bicycles which are now extremely valuable collector items.
