SJ, I'm afraid I may have started down a similar road. I bought a Ruger Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor. A friend builds long range rifles and last year shot a 1.6", 1000 yard group, at a match in MT, or WY, with that caliber. It has got me interested in a whole 'nuther realm of sport shooting. I lease some farmland from a friend who has agreed to let me build a berm at one end of his property to shoot at 1000+ yards.
