Well that is just about spot on with Briley choke charts. Many Winchester chokes Ive measured have been a bit more open than expected.

I also notice the Ithaca chart shows a 530' cone angle. Current SAAMI charts recommend a 5 cone as minimum length (max angle). The Ithaca cone with nominal chamber & bore would be around 0.350" versus about 0.400" by SAAMI standards.

For the past 60+ years, I have always read if a shot barrel was "Overchoked" patterns would reverse & start opening back up. Does anyone have any info as to just where that point is reached?

You can only look at so many Birmy boxlocks, or repro Parkers, without yawning. Just saying .........

If you relied on doubles to keep you going as a gun maker you would have failed 60 years ago. Oh wait, they all went bust. Smith, LeFever, Fox, Parker, the Birmy makers all are gone.

I do not care to see endless post about Stevens, Sterlingworths and Scotts. Only so much there to learn and a lot of whats posted is either redundant or just wrong. I see it is time for your yearly debate about shot type and size to use on turkeys. Oh how fresh and exciting.
