Jay, Welcome to the board! Hope that your opener proves satisfactory in all ways. Yuma sounds HOT, at least from a temp perspective.

I have no plans for the opener just now, tho I'll likely get out somewhere if I can work it out. Bidness obligations immediately after the holiday has required all my focus lately. Have a mid month shoot planned in W. TX that I'm looking forward to. The rains have the birds scattered this year, water & food everywhere. Cooler weather has the sunflower making late and the seeds are still green! Early season hunting is going to be challenging as there are no real concentrations of birds. Late season may prove more productive here, at least that's my feeling. Plan to use my RBL & an older vintage Beretta 20 this season, but also have an early 37 Ithaca 20 that I like to take afield for dove at least once per season just because.

Topgun's ending sentiment is reflective of my own. I would stress: be safe, wear eye & ear protection, shoot no low flying birds, ever .. and take more out of the field than you take in [trash]. Plastic bags take up little room and weigh nothing to take in, mine get loaded with stuff .. from old cans & hulls to paper and junk food bags to bits of bailing wire & old bottles or broken glass coming out.
