Have a Willis H. Ostrander double on my workbench. Does anyone know anything about this double? Been working on guns 48 yrs. and have never heard or seen one. edsguns@bellsouth.net

Is it this cat out of San Francisco, inventor of the Ostrander Double? https://books.google.com/books?id=bqBEAQ...der&f=falseIs it some breech-sliding Darne variant? Cheers, Raimey rse

The print calls them sideplates. I call them sidelocks.
There's something weird going on with the rear end of the forend in the picture of the gun with the "dude". Are you sure it's the same gun as the one pictured beneath it? There looks to be something almost akin to a "clip' in the top pic.

Looks like there may possibly be three triggers in the pic you "blew up" but, as you say,
"Not sure 'bout anything". Interesting, tho'..........

Pictures would be in order, if think it would be okay with the owner. Love to see it.

Stan, It looks like the front "trigger" is the opening "lever". Mike

Raimey, Rather than a "Darne" variant, it looks more like "slide and tip", similar to a Collath. Mike
