For use in the field and at gun shows, I use piece of sheepskin saturated with RIG. I keep it in a Ziplock bag to avoid picking up grit. Rig is not a lubricant, but it keeps rust off very well.

You are absolutely correct to question this absurd statement buzz. But rocky mtn bill also came here a couple years ago and actually stated that the tiny gears and bearings in a MMC Electric Checkering tool require no lubrication at all.
Imagine that... tiny precision bearings and gears running at an input speed of 17,000 RPM under load cutting checkering in hard seasoned walnut... with no lubrication. Scary to think that a guy like that taught our children for a living. Your tax dollars at work!
