Back to gun cleaners: I picked up an aerosol can of something called Stil Crin Special Gun Oil which; according to the can, is made in Brescia, Italy. A squirt down the barrel and a wad of kitchen roll pushed through and it fetches most of the muck out and only requires a pass or two with the bronze brush and another couple of squirts and passes and the barrel is clean. It even seems to shift black powder residue with little effort. I got the can at a place when on holiday. I will be down that way again soon and hope to get a dozen cans. Best stuff I've ever used.
