To successfully use a game call you must at least understand a bit of the language of the target animal or the one they predate on.
I just find it very interesting that they each have their own language but seem to understand all the others.
I have been having a bit of fun with the local bulls by blowing a Kudu horn Shofar. I can replicate that high trumpeting bull call.
They trumpet & bellow back at me & paw the ground. I do it from up on the hill so they don't attack me. The rest of the cattle look on with interest. I have not worked out exactly what I am saying to them yet.
Yeah & how do some dogs understand every word you say ?
