It's designed for shooting while sitting on one's ... for sure. It's not designed for logging around on a strap.

Oliver, your wellcome, photos are for public usage. PJ, not sure high seat chased in the stock shield means someone's a** shooting position, for me it looks like someone's emblem. Maybe E.Bond?

Also, not sure it's high seat at all. It looks like light up fire or what is in basket, cucumbers?

Nice gun...Looks like a fire to me. Don't you think they were a little optimistic with those long range sights.

Geno, Interesting gun, reminds me of the Jakob anti-artillery gun, more research needed.

A little bit optimistic? Maybe yea. But from the other hand I'd read Fenimore Cooper one more time and would wonder how they could shoot such a long distance from such "primitive" guns. Probably we do not undestand how smart some shooters could be at the time

It's hard to believe a double rifle could hit very close to where you were aiming 400 yards.

Oh yea of little faith!! Sean Connery was shooting mines in the water at 500 to 900 yards with a Jones screw-grip double rifle in "The League of Extraordinary Gentleman!!!

I would be extremely interested to know what the bore diameter is for that rifle, what is its twist, and what is the regulation load. A fascinating rifle for sure.

It is a distinct possibility that long range sliding site was sighted to one bbl only. It would seem however the folding leaves were for use with both.
