Replacement, Your experience is not unique. Im aware of many examples of Les fixing the work of several best gunsmiths. Best gunsmith west of the Atlantic. Pretty bold claim. You've tried them all? SRH Hey Stan, If you spent less time challenging me on stupid sh!t that doesnt matter, yould have more time to untwist the knots in your panties. Get over yourself. Do us both a favor, put me on your ignore list.

I agree, Les is incredibly good. Ive spent some time talking with him about his projects in the shop and looking at projects in progress. Hes got skills. Nice guy too.

Least-er: 16 gauge Nitro Special. 1937 vintage, for 2 3/4 ammunition and so marked. Much hated 26 tubes factory choked CYL and MOD. I use it for grouse hunting in a few areas that require non toxic shot. Does everything I ask, and nothing more. I know exactly how you feel, Bob. Best, Ted What variety of 16ga nontox do you use, Ted? Steel, or maybe the new Bismuth? That's one problem with the 16: not a lot of choices when it comes to nontox.

Hey Stan, If you spent less time challenging me on stupid sh!t that doesnt matter, yould have more time to untwist the knots in your panties. If it doesn't matter, why do you persist in such outrageous claims? Just stick to what you know and stop these outlandish statements. If you'd simply said he is a great gunsmith I'd have taken you at your word. Do us both a favor, put me on your ignore list. Ok, lessee. Ignore.....don't ignore.....ignore....don't ignore. Nah, I think I'll stick around a little longer. It's just such fun to see how it tears you up when you're challenged. SRH

You should know the IGNORE function doesn't work Bob. Look at how many times you responded to me after you claimed to be using it! By the way, that pad doesn't seem to be fitted to the wood very well. Is that your idea of "leather covered perfection"? Is the pad really supposed to be proud of the wood at the heel and toe, and the wood proud of the pad on the sides? P.S., I think $800.00 is way too much to pay for a Japanese Monkey Wards double shotgun in that condition. As long as you enjoy it and shoot it well, paying too much shouldn't matter. My favorite rainy day gun is an American classic 6 lb. 1 oz. 28" small frame Lefever DS 16 gauge with zero case colors and some internal barrel pitting. Nicely fitted original LAC monogram buttplate. I paid $175.00 for it. I'll make a nice little profit if I ever sell it. You won't.
Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug

keith. 1) I defy you to show me where I ever claimed to be ignoring you. I call bullshit, liar!2) Pad is covered perfectly, to fit another gun. Read what I wrote. 98% I'm perfectly happy to spend $800 on this Miroku. My money, not yours.

Larry, This stuff: Have enough for about another decade of use. Im only forced to use non-toxic at the federal WMA at Sherburn, and I hunt it infrequently. It isnt great grouse habitat, inspite of the fact I have been pushing birds around there for most of forty years. This load hits hard, and handles sweetly in the Nitro. There is an occasional pheasant to be found, and woodcock, but, the area is closed to all waterfowl and migratory bird hunting. A pity. The St. Francis river runs through it and would make for great jump shooting of ducks. I dont know what Ill do when the stuff is gone. But, for now, Im good. Best, Ted

Glad you like that ammo and if I still had some I'd send it to you. In my opinion it is/was the worst ammo ever made. Always took an average of 5 shots per duck. That's 2 to knock it down and 3 more to kill it on the water. Called Hevi-shot and they replaced the 12 ga stuff I had with real ammo. Shot all the rest (3 boxes of 20's) at skeet.

I was trying to remember if I bought it off this board, or the 16 gauge board.
The stuff works well on grouse and pheasants. I havent shot at a duck since they outlawed lead, but, if I did, I suppose Id use a 12 with bigger than 1 oz loads. The quality of the cases leave a bit to be desired, most of them have a split up the side after they are fired. I read reports that they work far better in open choke guns. They keep me legal in a spot I like to be in, and knock birds down. Other than that, I wouldnt go out of my way to find more. Thanks. I have and will continue to put them to good, if occasional, use.
Best, Ted

Never heard about the open chokes working better, but it makes sense. Opened one up and with a light tap of a hammer the shot turns to dust. Probably what happend when I ran it thru mod and full. Jw
