I am not very familiar with Dalys, but curious if you thought the barrels were shortened on this one. Thank you.

No pic of the muzzle, I'd have to wonder why.
25" in length is a nice even length for us USA folks but over there centimeters rule the day.

25" does come in at 63 1/2 cm. which sounds kind of nice & even. But that would mean the maker decided to produce the bbl length at a half centimeter cut off point.
Maybe for the US market some would say,,a nice even inch length..I don't know,,maybe?.

I'd think the orig length was more on the order of a plain 65cm length. which would pan out to just a bit over 25 1/2" on our yard stick.
Or a 66cm length originally which would measure out at at just a hair under 26inches on most anyones ruler.

A 1/2 inch,,or 1 inch cut from those respectively would still leave some choke in them as the specs say they have (.002/,004),, but would cut the most strict reduction in bore dia from the end.
I'm thinking they were probably 66cm length originally (25.98+") and that inch was cut to remove some damage leaving some choke in both. Just my guess though.

I'd still want a pic or two of the muzzle before spending any $$ there. I can be proven entirely wrong in my guess!

The gun has been totally refinished anyway,,wood and metal.
It's not hard to figure a few other things were done to doll it up for sale.
It was a nice gun as orig made for sure.

Just my observations.

Yeah, for that money & calibre of Daly, I'd ask for images of the muzzle & the touchmarks.

Cheers,

Or perhaps the gun was Daly's answer to the Churchill XXV.

I can only speak for myself, I had Heym make a 60 cm set of barrels for my O/U( I now have 4 barrel sets for it), for quail. They turned out to be my favorite for everything.

So many issues, where do you begin? That is a gun to run, not walk, away from.

That gun is restocked, and not done at all well. God knows what other changes were made.

I would not give 1/2 that price, and I like older Daly guns.

I've never cataloged 25" barrels on a Prussian Daly. Daly did offer 24" on certain small gauge guns, but I have never seen 25" barrels offered in any of their period catalogs.

In addition to the restocking, this IS NOT a regent diamond Daly. It looks like a diamond quality model 325 - a few steps down from the regent.
