Russell James,10 Snowhill,Birmingham.1832-1837.

Foot note;
Records show no reference to an A.T.Russell.Your gun is typical of guns made in Birmingham for the trade.
A.T. Russell was likely an ironmonger/hardware store, that sold guns. These guns would be supplied engraved with his name. This scenario almost certainly applies to your Dewson gun!

Thanks Raimey.

The lock is clearly marked A.T. Russel.

What is the purpose of the screw with escutcheon? Is there a screw through the butt to hold the buttplate extension that runs along the comb?
