I have been unable to find the manufacture dates for the BL-4. This one is # X017xx. Any help would be most appreciated. Gil

Just a wag, but maybe from about 1960-1975. JR

don't have all my resources present at the moment, but I think the BL series started a bit later than 1960. iirc, they replaced the S55 - S56 - S57 series around 1965. b. r. tom

I went thru some similar processes trying to figure out a Beretta SxS from about the same era. Barrel markings would help to narrow it down. Is it marked Garcia, Beretta USA or BerBen? Mine is marked BerBen and, as I recall, that was a transition distributor name between Garcia and Beretta USA. Stampings might also help to place importation before or after GCA of 1968.

My serial number is M00065 from 1970 BL-4 28 gauge. Mine is stamped imported by Garcia of Teaneck, N.J.

Gil, Gil, I have a printed table/list of the year of manufacture marks. This list begins with Year 1945 and Mark I and ends with Year 2001 and Mark BP.
My Beretta SxS is Marked XX which the table tells me it was manufactured in 1964. The mark is on the barrel flat directly under the serial number.
Do you have a mark under your serial number? If so, I will be glad to look it up for you.

All I have is the serial number which is X01712, and I'm not even sure if the "0" is a zero or an "O" (letter). Gil

Drat, I hoped to be of assistance.
The Beretta web site does have a place to enter a serial number and get information - maybe that will help.
