Thanks as always for sharing. It's funny timing, as I just was reading through an old thread on another forum from a decade ago, where you were debating the "illustrious" Randy Wakeman on the inherent safety of Damascus barrels.
I wonder if he is still enamored of his own expertise on the matter.
Personally, I try to caution people specifically about guns which are both high grade, and high condition. I point out that the more engraving they have, the more dangerous they typically are. And, that's the whole reason that high grade Lefever is still in a safe after all these years. Because your grandfather, recognizing its inherent danger, wisely locked it away so no one could be injured. THAT'S why it's in mint condition! Because it's just too dangerous to even touch.
As such, I'm [selflessly] always willing to accept these guns to...um...relieve people of the burden. My civic duty, frankly.
