It wouldn't be hard to do, lonesome. Spirit is willing but I gave up skates last winter. Starting 87 too much to lose. I wasn't a good hockey player anyway.
Skates. I met Bobby Bauer by accident many years ago while looking for a liquor store for press crew in small Ontario town closed tight during royal tour.
A guy in a big black Cadillac with half a dozen kids in the back seat asked if he could help me. When I told him my problem, he said jump in.
He didn't tell me who he was until he emptied his huge liquor cabinets at the ivy-covered skate factory in cardboard boxes and refused remuneration.
You can't do that, I said. Yes, I can. Everyone has been good to me and I want you to have it. Driving back I asked him if the precious cargo in the back seat was all his.
Yes, they are. Funny story but my wife I tried to have a baby for an awful long time until a friend told me to go to Mexico and have a real good time.
"We've had one a year ever since." Ah, the Kraut Line, Bobby and Schmidt and I forget the other. You were too young, lonesome, too young.
