We will be having a federal election in a year. It's unlikely anything this draconian would be passed before the election. Possible but unlikely. It may turn into a campaign issue, one more thing to beat the Liberals about the head with during the campaign. We've already got the incredible mess they've made of the NAFTA negotiation.
