Canada's federal government is "studying" ban in cities of handguns and assault rifles. Canada's police chiefs are doing the same. The 30,000-member Canadian Shooting Sports Association has protested with a letter to Ottawa. Toronto and Montreal support the ban in their cities.

There has been no organized national protest as the one that ended the long gun registry. The gun club of which I'm a member was the loudest voice in the province last time. There's little interest now. I have no explanation for it. I'm working up letters to our provincial Members of Parliament but why we're not at the barricades everywhere is a mystery to me.

No pushback, fait accompli.
