The description says "pistol grip mint original" but I have never seen a VH with that kind of figure in the buttstock, or that checkering pattern. Also, the forearm is described as splinter, but I see a floatation pontoon in the photos. Maybe the wood is dense, or maybe lead weight was added to the butt to balance out the forearm. But I'd say the stock is an old replacement. I certainly agree that I'd expect a 1/2 frame 28" 12 ga VH to weigh much less than this one.
