Can a basically stock Ruger No. 1 with a Holland and Holland gold name, stock, and some proof marks, in a nice luggage case, be worth $30,000 over and above what it could be done for by a master gunbuilder here? Does not even have the prerequisite recessed safety button.
Not judging, just asking.

Especially when you compare it to this gorgeous piece:

Its still a Ruger number 1 in the end. It may say H&H on the side but also Ruger number 1 on the top.

I think I could have a beautiful set of three Ruger No. 1 rifles built for the price of that H&H Ruger.

Its nice, but not 30k nice. The wood is good too. Heym built nice rifles on the no.1 action, in classic calibres like the 7x57, they were nowhere near as expensive as that supposed H&H though.

Interesting the Hartman and Weiss is ~10% less than the H&H built on the Ruger action. Is the 500/465 a more expensive caliber to buy than a 300 weather by mag?

The H&H Ruger no. 1 is not the thing of beauty that the Hartmann & Weiss rifle is, but it is not ugly. It could be considered ugly priced and I do not expect that it will ever sell for that price in America.

Poly Choke ugly???? Yes, they were never a thing of beauty and I do not know how they will ever be; and they did not pattern shot all they well either.
