This is a D grade but not a D Super. Serial number pre-dates the very first Super Fox by 4,000+ guns.

Gentlemen,

Now I like Fox double guns, both the originals and the repo. However 55K is way out of line for a damaged Fox. If the guy really was offered 35K, which is questionable to say the least, he should have grabbed the money and ran.

I noticed this, too. "ENGLISH GRIP WITH A REPAIR IN THE WRIST

$55K would buy a REALLY good gun.

With those barrels and chokes, it MIGHT have been bored by Bert Becker.

Herschel Chadick, the shyster gun dealer from Texas who's now gone on to his reward, once had a graded 12 ga. A H Fox listed in the old "Gun List" that he said "appears to be Becker-bored". I always laugh about that and how he carefully made a claim so that he could not be accused of lying. But lying was his strong suit, so...

Unique gun, agreed that it may not be a “Super Fox” by serialization but is definitely built/bored that way. Would be interesting to measure frame size to see if it has the wider/deeper frame that is equipped on a Super/Wildfowler. Repaired wrist does not equate to “mint, original condition” but it is a unique gun. I have no idea how one puts a value on a gun like that. List high and get as much for it as you can I guess. I like it!

Others point out this gun’s serial number is too early for the Super Fox range. And if I recall the ad correctly it’s giving a weight of 7 pounds 13 oz for a 32” gun.

That seems awfully light for the larger frame size and matching 32” barrels of a Super Fox. My standard A grade is 7 pounds 5 oz for a 30” gun with a 14” lop to original butt plate.

I remember Herschel. Visited his shop several times. The most I ever bought from him was a LOM case. He had a bad case of 'gun dealer'.
