I like that idea, Jon.

Sometimes seeing you carrying guns to and from your vehicle can have the opposite effect. It can send the signal that this is one we don't want to mess with. Out here where I live almost everyone within miles knows that I am a shooter, and a gun toter, and when they walk by on the highway they do so on the opposite side of the road, and at a fast pace. My house is within a stone's throw of the highway, and completely visible to passersby. Occasionally, when someone suspicious looking walks by on the shoulder I will pop off a couple rounds in the opposite direction, just to give them something to think about.

The only break-in we have had, in nearly 48 years here, was when my wife was visiting our son in AZ and her car was not under the carport. The d...a.. broke in and stole a stereo, and left three loaded long guns in the house. He paid for it with about 6 years in the pen, and paid me in cash for my loss.
