My son is away at medical school, living in an apartment building. He wanted to shoot at a nearby club but the thought of moving guns from his apartment building to his truck every time he goes shooting seemed to be a bad idea. I gave him a locking gun cabinet for his apartment but he has to walk in plain view from his apartment to his truck. Even a plain case would attract attention from the wrong people.
I suggested a custom fitted, non gun type case, like a musical case but he said he was afraid they figure the violin might be valuable. After about ten minutes thought, I came up with the perfect guncase for him. It is a baseball soft case with a bat compartment on one end. Holds a 32” set of barrels while the receiver rides in the bag above with his eye protection and ear protection. To make the entire thing look even more innocent I used a zip tie to attach a old fielders glove to the bag. So now, when he goes shooting, the entire world knows he is going to play baseball or softball. Best way to hide something is to put it in plain sight. Total cost for the bag was $9.00.
