Note that while Joe questions its originality he did say;

Doesn't appear to me he was Bad-Mouthing the gun, just believes it has seen some re-finishing. It definitely appears in the pictures the cover over the hinge pin has had some force applied to it, or is that a threaded in hinge pin. A lot of hammerless guns have a cover at that location as the cocking rod goes through the frame with the actual hinge pin being only in the central portion inside the cocking rods.

That might well indicate it has been put back on face. One might also well wonder if it has that much original finish left, Why did it need putting back on Face. All food for thought.
