"What make of car are they giving away for HOA at the M&M Side by Side event?

I still want to know what brand of car I could win if I showed up over there."

I'm assuming this is a joke; maybe on me, maybe not. Either way, I'm not gettin it....care to explain?

I'm a NSCA member and a regular tournament shooter myself. I live in NSCA Zone 2. The Zone flyer came from M&M yesterday. I also like double gun shooting and I participate in many registered and non-registered events with SxS's. However, as Bill says, I usually don't use a SxS for the main event.

In case some of you haven't heard of M&M, it's in NJ a little southeast of Philly. I live near Rock Mountain myself and M&M is a 3+ hour drive, probably more this summer with all the road maintenance going on. What I'm saying is the locations are pretty far apart. The SxS event at M&M is just one of many they offer as part of the Zone 2 tournament. It's basically the same as the subgauges and pump gun events. M&M is well known amongst tournament shooters as a top quality club with excellent courses and targets.

Most of the NSCA shooters who do the SxS event at tournaments are serious competitors who shoot their primary gun (semi-auto or over/under) at the main event, also do the subgauges, 20, 28 and 410. The SxS event is just one of many that are offered to serious competition shooters at a lot of tournaments.

On the other hand, double gun fun shoots at excellent venues like Hausmann's Hidden Hollow and Rock Mountain are intended for a much larger segment of double gun shooters who enjoy the fun, comaraderie and a bit less intense competition.

The bottom line is there's a place for both types of events. You pay your money and you take your choice. I really doubt the date conflict on Saturday will force a significant percentage of shooters to make a difficult choice on where to go.

Mike, I think Bill's question about the make of car awarded for HOA at the SxS event at M&M is some of his wit coming out. As all of us know, you don't make any money or big prizes shooting anything, anywhere. Silvers

Can anyone recommend places to stay nearby? Hotels, motels, or campgrounds would do.

We usually post the results of all competitors on our website. The only time we don't is our Mixed Doubles shoot and fundraiser/charity events. Results from the SxS Challenge will be posted on our website Monday following the event.

Newlyn 1, if you visit our website (Rock Mt) or HHHSC website you will find lodging and camping info. If you use a motorhome, we have electrical hookups, but no dump station.

Mike thank you. There is one big tournament that keeps scoressecret except the names and places of the top winners. I rather how the reg. sporting clay tournaments do it. Its nice to know how you did compared with others. I put your two day shoot on my calender.

Many big double barrel shoots keep scores close to teh chest. I read a magizine last night that had an article on the big spring shoot that's held in n c. They only listthe winners. I hope you know there's a good reason foree that. A lot of double gun guys can't shoot targets too good and it would embarass them. They are in it mostly for the clothes ceegars and to show off their expensive guns, etc. Nothing wrong with that really. But If the proprietor lists all the scores they will get pixxed and not return next time.

If a shooter does not want his/her score on the results with the rest, he/she can nicely request that their score not be published, and we will be happy to oblige.

Registrations have been coming in!! We're a month away now and just wanted to bump the post up for exposure!! You know, out of sight, out of mind. Just got back from Rochester today and sounds like a nice group will be making the trip to NEPA to join in the festivities. Don't be left out, this should be a great event. I'm actually excited!! Hey Mike Campbell, which SxS will you be shooting??
