Ed, on that we are in total agreement. Keep in mind also the Color of Slavery was not Black & White but Green. One of the ten Wealthiest slave owners in the US at this point of time (prior to the War) was in Fact a free Black. He ran a large sugarcane operation. Also there were quite a few Cherokees who owned slaves. They weren't all owned by us EVIL Southerners.
